Welcome to the BEA's new website! Some pages are still under construction and therefore the links to those pages do not work yet. Please be patient.
America activities!BEA will provide Read Across America bookmarks and certificates of participation to classroom teachers. Building Reps will be asking each teacher how many are needed so school totals can be turned in on Friday, February 3! The bookmarks and certificates will be printed and sent to the schools before the end of the month. Make sure your Building Rep has your classroom's count!

Now is the time for members to make nominations for BEA Teacher of the Year and BEA Friend of Education. Click here to get the nomination form. The award qualifications are listed on the form and the nomination deadline is Februrary 29. The Awards Committee will review the nominations in March and select the winners. The BEA Teacher of the Year wins $500. Both awardees will be honored at the Educator Appreciation Awards Banquet on April 26.

MEA-MFT Regional TrainingFREE training will be offered to members at the Hilton Garden Inn on Friday evening and Saturday, March 2 & 3. Detailed information and the registration form are available here. The deadline for registration is February 24. Lots of good information and meals provided, and you earn OPI renewal units. Don't miss this one here in Billings!

This fundraising event for the BEA Karen Cox Scholarship program is underway now! You can purchase raffle tickets from your BEA Building Rep or a member of the BEA Board or at the BEA office. They are just $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. Buy lots to win great prizes....all donated by local businesses and members. There are four weekly drawings and one big Grand Prize drawing. The first drawing is on Monday, January 23. Click Here for a complete list of prizes and raffle details. And remember all proceeds go to the scholarship fund.

The 2012 National Education Association Representative Assembly will be held in Washington, DC from June 30-July 5. The BEA will send a delegation to attend. Three BEA board members will attend and two additional delegates will be elected on February 21, 2012. BEA members can be candidates for the open delegate positions. Just download this self-nomination form. Complete and submit the form by February 6 along with a short biography and a photograph. For more details contact the BEA office, 248.9812.
Be a Delegate to MEA-MFT Representative AssemblyMEA-MFT RA is this spring in Missoula on March 30-31. BEA's delegation needs up to ten more members. If you are interested please call the BEA office at 248.9812 now. The alternate delegates will be elected at the next Rep Council meeting on February 21. A bus will be chartered to take the delegates to Missoula or they can drive. Delegates receive a per diem to cover their expenses. Important state union work happens at RA. You can be a part of it!
Applications for the BEA Karen Cox Scholarship are now available here and at the counselors' offices at West High, Senior High, Skyview High and the Career Center. Check the application for eligibility requirements or go to the BEA Scholarship page. The application deadline is March 6, 2012. The completed application and all required documents (essay, letters of reccomendation, official transcripts) must be received in the BEA office by the deadline.
Last winter the BEA purchased the rest of the building that houses our office. Renovations began this summer and now much of the office space is ready to be rented.
