BEA Fund for Needy Kids
| The BEA Fund for Needy Kids
was established in 1989. Teachers are often one of the first to become aware of their students unmet needs. Through this fund members can request assistance to meet a specific need for which the student's family is unable to provide. |
The Fund for Needy Kids has
purchased winter coats and boots, school
supplies, eyeglasses, books, lice kits, shoes, and clothing for many
children over the years.
| The Fund for Needy Kids has
also
made donations to organizations such as Toys for Tots, the Billings
Food
Bank, and the Women's and Children's Shelter at Christmas time when
funding
allowed. |
| This
fund is overseen by a committee
of at least three BEA members appointed by the BEA President. The 2009/10 Fund for Needy Kids Committee is chaired by Noreen Burris. |
